Ted Molter
Ted Molter, Chief Marketing Officer, San Diego Zoo Global

Ted Molter is the chief marketing officer for San Diego Zoo Global responsible for public relations, creative services, advertising and design, website, publications, interpretation, sales, licensing and partnership marketing activities that support the World-Famous San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research the Society’s scientific division. He joined San Diego Zoo Global in 1998 as the associate marketing director in charge of public relations. In April 2002 he was promoted to director of marketing.

Ted came to San Diego from Sea World of Ohio, where he worked for 13 years. His tenure there included positions as a penguin keeper and aquarist, ultimately working his way up to become director of the public relations department. The demands of that position ranged from traveling with Airship Shamu to the filming of the movie Pirates with Leslie Nielsen and Eric Idle for Busch Entertainment Corporation.

Ted is a graduate of Kent State University with a degree in broadcast communications and a field of concentration in biology. He is an active member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA); past education and marketing committee chair, past board member and the founding foundation board chair for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA); board and executive committee member of the San Diego Tourism Authority; and is a board member and past chairman of the California Travel Association.

With the opportunity to reach families around the world with the San Diego Zoo Global mission of conservation, education and family fun, Ted has continued to find ways to combine his passion for animals with an endless desire to share the wonders of nature through innovative marketing and communications programs in Southern California and beyond.

David Williams-Mitchell
David Williams-Mitchell, Communication Director, The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria

David is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all internal and external communications for the European Zoo and Aquarium sector’s stakeholder base which includes EU legislators, zoos and aquariums, conservation partners, the public, and some of the world’s leading media channels. He is an expert in the field of crisis communication strategy and management, providing strategic council and social media advice for EAZA members. He organizes the annual conferences of the association and keeps oversight of multiple other conferences. David is also liaison to the the association’s Communications Committee and contributor to the EAZA Strategy 2017-2020 and keeps oversight of the educational offerings of EAZA.

Laura Van Der Meer
Laura Van der Meer, Partner, Kelley Drye

Laura van der Meer is the managing partner of Kelley Drye’s Brussels office. Laura is dedicated to assisting her clients in understanding and navigating complex international and European policy and legislative processes to better protect and advance their interests and market positions. Laura and her team monitor the international and European legislative and policy landscapes, providing early warning of key developments and trends.

Laura is actively involved in the 'Alliance of Aquatic Mammal Parks and Aquariums' and the 'European Association for Aquatic Mammals'.

George Bryan, Director, Drayton Manor

George has over 25 years’ experience of working in the leisure industry at Drayton Manor.

He has held positions and activities ranging from sweeping floors, cleaning tables at 12 years old, cooking burgers, and serving ice cream, to managing the zoo, security, grounds, and facilities manager, and then eventually becoming company director.

In that time, George has overseen the company grow to 1.2 million visitors, becoming a national brand and a staycation destination.
