First-Time Exhibitors
Helpful Hints!
Thank you for being a part of IAAPA Attractions Expo 2010, Nov. 16-19, at the Orange County Convention Center. As a first-time exhibitor, IAAPA wants you to have a great trade show and our Manufacturers and Supplier Committee have put together some tips and hints to help you succeed in Orlando.
HELPFUL HINTS FROM THE IAAPA MANUFACTURERS & SUPPLIERS COMMITTEE
- Attend special events to become known in the Industry and meet the members. – Kurt Mack-Even, Mack Rides GmbH (See Registration Information below)
- Send an e-newsletter to your client list prior to IAAPA Attractions Expo and help generate excitement and foot traffic to your booth. – Deborah Eicher, Picsolve Inc. USA
- IAAPA staff and floor managers are readily available to hear comments, suggestions, and complaints. - Arthur Grover. Bumper Boats Inc.
- Have enough staff for the size of your booth. A small booth with only one exhibiting person does not allow for any bathroom or lunch breaks. Bigger booths need enough people so everyone that wants info is taken care of in a timely manner. Be careful not to have too many people working; if so, send some to walk the show, take a break, etc. – Jack Mendes, BSR Group
- Exhibitors should actively engage every prospect that approaches their booth and/or staff. Just because an attendee’s badge may say a title of something other than Owner, President, CEO, etc.,does not mean they aren’t a buyer. – Alan Ramsay, CLM Entertainment
- Put a sticker on your business card with the IAAPA logo and your booth number so when you meet potential clients at networking events or strolling the floor they can easily find your booth. – Deborah Eicher, Picsolve Inc. USA
- Do not eat in you booth in full view of the attendees. Do not drink in the booth in full view of the attendees unless you are going to offer them some (water, coffee, etc.). – Jack Mendes, BSR Group
- Company logos and multiple shipping labels are a good idea on all packed material (pallets and boxes) in- and outbound. Also, try to coordinate your outbound shipping late Wednesday or Thursday to avoid lines on Friday at show close. – Chris Gray, Great Coasters International
- “Be professional at all times, whether at social events, dinner or in the elevator, from the time you get on the plane it's showtime as every word and action that comes from you represents your company.” – Tim Timco, PMG Direct
- Always have someone staffing your booth – Kurt Mack-Even, Mack Rides GmbH
