Movie-themed attractions coming to Florida's Walt Disney World Resort in summer
Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, is launching several special attractions on Memorial Day weekend or later this summer. These include a "Guardians of the Galaxy" party at Epcot, appearances by characters from "The Incredibles" movie at Magic Kingdom and the Discovery Island Carnivale with "The Three Caballeros." Additional activities include an "Up"-themed show and a character celebration featuring Donald Duck at Animal Kingdom. Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios will also make its debut this summer, featuring the "Slinky Dog Dash" coaster and the "Alien Swirling Saucers" ride among its attractions. Orlando Sentinel (Fla.) Spring debut set for "Harley Quinn Spinsanity" at Six Flags Over Texas
Construction is progressing on the "Harley Quinn Spinsanity" thrill ride at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. According to a park spokeswoman, the attraction should be ready in late spring. "Harley Quinn Spinsanity," manufactured by ABC Rides and located at the park's Gotham City section, will feature a triple-box design that enables spinning on three different axes 70 feet above the ground. "Rebel Yell" roller coaster at Kings Dominion in Virginia to be renamed "Racer 75"
An official at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, announced in a blog post that the iconic wooden roller coaster "Rebel Yell" will be renamed "Racer 75." The change is part of a rebranding of existing attractions across that part of the park, which will soon see the opening of the new "Twisted Timbers" hybrid roller coaster. Richmond Times-Dispatch (Va.) Feb. 11 opening set for "Little Africa" attraction at Paultons Park in England
Paultons Park in Hampshire, England, will open its "Little Africa" animal attraction Feb. 11. It will feature animals native to Africa, such as meerkats, the Gambian pouched rat, fennec foxes and African crested porcupines, plus a variety of bird species such as the Madagascan teal and trumpeter hornbills in an aviary. Southern Daily Echo (U.K.) (2/1)

Design unveiled for water park coming to Proserpine, Australia
Plans are moving forward for a water park set to rise next to the Proserpine Swimming Pool in Australia after a developer was awarded a $1.7 million contract for its design and construction. Work on the facility is expected to begin later this month in time for an opening by late June. The design for the water park has been unveiled, and it features various attractions including slides and water play equipment. The Whitsunday Times (Australia) (1/31) 

Renovation planned for Memorial Pool in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
The Memorial Pool in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is expected to be closed this year and next to allow for a renovation slated to begin in spring 2019. A 3,300-square-meter indoor animation theme park called Popcon D Square is scheduled to open Saturday on the sixth floor of the Yongsan IPark Mall in South Korea. Skylanes bowling facility makes its debut in Scottsdale, Arizona

Hickory, North Carolina, to get a DefyGravity indoor trampoline park

Vietnam exhibit at Oklahoma History Center gets new helicopter flight simulator

Plans move forward for $100 million park project in Gilbert, Arizona
A park covering 272 acres is set to rise in Gilbert, Arizona, in a project spanning up to 10 years. Expected to cost nearly $100 million, the park will include splash pads, a zipline, a ropes course, a lake, a playground and various sports courts as part of its first phase, set to begin construction in the fall.
