Wednesday, 6 March

Wet n' Wild

One of the largest water parks in Brazil, get an insider's look at how the facility manages 23 attractions, cares for it's native landscaping, and hosts up to 12,000 people per day. In 2012, the facility opened it's White Pavillion Convention Center and Ihla Misteriosa do Cascao attraction, featuring 17 platforms, slides, waterfalls, hose washer, and a bucket of 2,000 liters of water. 

In addition to lunch at Wet n' Wild's White Pavillion Convention Center, you'll hear a keynote address by Marcelo Gutglas, Playcenter; Sau Paulo, Brazil.

Marcelo Gutglas was instrumental in the development of the South American market, founding the first theme park in Brazil, Playcenter,  as well as Hopi Hari and the Playland FECs. Gutglas opened his first attraction in 1969, an arcade incorporating 20 pinball machines, and since then his name has become synonymous with the South American amusement industry. He founded the Brazilian Association of Amusement Parks in 1989 and served as president of the Latin American Association of Amusement Parks from 1995 to 1997, where his steady hand helped bring the South American attraction industry back on track after a period of economic difficulty. In addition to his contributions in his region, Gutglas has been active in the worldwide IAAPA community, serving on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, World Council, Strategic Planning Committee, and currently as a member of the Latin American Advisory Committee. 


Hopi Hari

Hopi Hari is one of Brazil's largest and most modern theme parks. Divided into five areas, Hopi Hari a is a fictitious country with it's own people, flag, president, customs, and language. The park features approximately 60 rides, including five roller coasters and two water slides. Dinner will be served at the park. 

Thursday, 7 March

O Mundo da Xuxa

Discover how this unique indoor theme park with approximately 500,000 annual visitors manages it's attractions. The park has 20 attractions, including a roller coaster and indoor flume, as well as four shows. In addition, see how this small theme park has used it's characters, Xuxinha to make it a world of dreams and fantasies. 

Lunch at Figueiras at Jardim Paulista

Museum of Football (Museu do Futebol)

Located in the Pacaembu Stadium, the museum features thoughtful, interactive exhibitions that honor Brazil's most popular sport. You'll be surrounded with the history and memorabilia, as well as the sights and sounds, as you explore this poignant and engrossing attraction.

Friday, 8 March 

Sao Paulo Zoo

Get a first-hand look at how the zoo cares for more than 3,000 animals and 1.5 million annual visitors. You'll take away insight into the operation, conservation work, and go behind-the-scenes at one of Brazil's most popular zoos. Lunch will be provided during the tour.


 
Saturday, 9 March - Monday, 11 March

Join colleagues a magical post-conference adventure to Balneário Camboriú March 9-11. Known as the tourism capital of Santa Catarina, Balneário Camboriú is located in the north coastal part of Santa Catarina. It is known for its idyllic beaches and modern innovative tourist attractions.  It is one of the most important tourist destinations of south Brazil and the Mercosul.

Saturday, March 9

The post tour begins with a one hour flight from Sao Paulo to Balneário Camboriú, a major beach resort in the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina. After a quick stop by the host hotel, Infinity Blue Resort and Spa, attendees will board a boat for Laranjeiras Beach, enjoy lunch at the beach, and ride the cable cars to Unipraias Park, where guests will tour the Yoohoo and zip line attractions. Dinner will be held at No. 7, a renowned Asian fusion restaurant.

Sunday, March 10

The day will be spent touring Beto Carrero World, Latin America's largest theme park, covering more than 14 million square meters and containing more than 100 attractions. The park is divided into three main areas:
  • Attractions - consists of world class thrill rides, water rides, simulation movie theater, much more.
    Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about learn about park operations and lunch will be
    served at the park.
  • Zoo - featuring more than 700 animals from 171 species, you'll enjoy seeing everything from alligators to zebras in state of the art enclosures. The zoo includes the Primate Science Center, World of Horses, and petting zoo.
  • Shows - Daily shows that feature renowned performers from around the world.
Monday, March 11

Enjoy the morning to yourself to explore Balneário Camboriú. With beautiful beaches, ample shopping, and terrific restaurants you'll never want to leave. The bus will depart Infinity Blue Resort and Spa around 12:00 for the return flight, arriving in Sao Paulo at 16:15.

Cost: The tour is US$699 for IAAPA members and US$799 for nonmembers. The tour is in addition to the event’s registration fee.
