Institute for Attractions Managers 2010
Dates will be announced soon.
You know that your facility is only as good as the team you build. And who can help you build that team better than IAAPA? IAAPA is proud to offer the Institute for Emerging Leaders, a professional development program to help you strengthen your management team. The program is conveniently located at IAAPA Attractions Expo affording attendees the best opportunity there is to see industry in action.
The courses are a blend of classroom instruction, audio presentation, case study, class work, and field work. Attendees will receive a detailed workbook for each course with additional course references, as well as further reading material on the IAAPA web site.
Who should attend?
The two and a half day program is aimed at industry professionals with at least three years management experience who have demonstrated the potential and commitment to be on your senior management team: the department heads, directors, and managers who you would like to promote—or move throughout your business.
Subject Areas
The course looks at not only how these operational areas work but, perhaps more important, how they impact your operation. Attendees should walk away with a solid understanding of how and why a busy amusement attraction functions as it does.
The course covers the following five core subject areas:
- Attractions Finance: Capital, expense and revenue budgeting, and other financial tools.
- Attractions Marketing: The role of public relations, media relations, advertising, group sales and marketing.
- Attractions Leadership: Successful human resources development strategies.
- Facility Operations and Safety: Industry regulation, best facility management practices, and crisis management awareness.
- Attractions Revenue Operations: The role and importance of food and beverage, merchandise, and games.
- Other revenue-generating operations.
