Danilo Santi

Presentations 24 May:
Bernard Giampaolo
Massimiliano Freddi
Steve Van den Kerkhof

Aldo Maria Vigevani, CEO Gardaland, Italy

Aldo started his career as a Marketing Director. He developed his skills working with Kraft and Beiersdorf Nivea and his experience led him to various industries, growing in Duracell, Reckitt & Colman and Fiat Alfa Romeo in the 1990s. He started in Gardaland in 1998, leading the Marketing Department for 10 years. Since 2008, Aldo runs Gardaland as the CEO of this resort, part of Merlin Entertainments Group.
Danilo Santi, General Manager Gardaland, Italy

“I started my career as a Product Manager in Bauli and I joined Gardaland in 1991 where I grew in all Operations departments. From Advertising Manager, I became Head of Retail and F & B, a new position created by the Board in 1993. In 2001, I took the position of Park Director, running not only <commercial> businesses but also Operational teams (Rides, Cleaning, Safety & Security, Shows, Ticketing & Gates, Parking, Info staff). Since 2007- when Gardaland merged with Merlin Entertainments- I have been working as General Manager adding the maintenance team to my scope and Sea Life Aquariums – Gardaland & Jesolo. “
Bernard Giampaolo, CEO Mirabilandia, Italy

Versatile and result-oriented, Bernard has spread his knowledge and experience in numerous resorts around the world, such as Club Méditerranée and Pierre & Vacances as a country Operation Director and International Project Manager. He was in charge of all Resort Operations travelling to different countries from 1982 to 2006. From 2006 to 2015, Bernard joined Parques Reunidos SA Group, as General Manager of Marineland, France, a complete site offering an attractions park, a zoo and a water park. In November 2015, Bernard became the CEO of Mirabilandia.
Fabio Amicabile, Owner and CEO Canevaworld Resort, Italy

Fabio Amicabile is the C.E.O. and owner of Canevaworld Resort, the Garda lake destination which includes two theme parks, two themed restaurants and a summer disco-nightclub. His training took place directly within the family company, starting with the disco-nightclub and continuing through the water park that has seen, in the 90s, a complete transformation to become the first water theme park in Italy. Since 2000, Fabio  has also followed  the design and construction of Movieland, the first movies themed park in Italy. Fabio is at the head of the creative group which designs and manufactures all of the Canevaworld Resort rides and shows.
Steve van den Kerkhof, CEO, Plopsa Group

Studio 100 can rely on a steadfast organizational structure for its theme parks consisting of an overall team of directors working for the entire theme park group. This steady construction is Steve Van den Kerkhof (°13th May 1975), CEO of the theme park group and chairman of the Board of Studio 100. Steve has been involved as from the start of Plopsa in 1999, stipulating the track together with his team and securing the Plopsa theme park group to grow and become stronger despite price competitions, economic crises and divergent weather conditions. By presenting each time a five-year business plan he obtained the support of the Board of Studio 100 for every step of the way. As a result of this multi-year approach, the theme parks were not dependent on the result from one year to the next, enabling the execution of the forecasted investment plan.
Massimiliano Freddi , V.P Strategic Development Leolandia, Italy

Led by a strong passion for the amusement parks industry, after his studies in marketing and communication, Massimiliano began his career as a Marketing, Press & PR Manager Italy for Disneyland Paris. In 2008, he took on the challenge to join the team in charge of relaunching the 40-years old miniature facility Minitalia, Milano, and turned it into a cutting edge theme park. During the last seven years, Massimiliano worked for Leolandia as a General Manager and, lately, as VP Strategic Development. The park has become Italy’s number one park for families with children under 10, with a strong focus on safety, accessibility, environment and service.
