Tokyo Disneyland in Japan to unveil "Stitch Encounter" in July
"Stitch Encounter" will open in July at Tokyo Disneyland in Japan. The interactive attraction based on Walt Disney's "Lilo & Stitch" replaces the "Captain EO" ride. The attraction will also feature Disney's first Japanese-speaking Stitch.
21st Century Fox hopes to create theme parks in China
21st Century Fox Consumer Products President Jeffrey Godsick said the firm is seeking local partners to create theme parks in China. "China offers something that probably no other country in the world does. We're talking with several major companies. The government is always involved and the government has been very supportive in certain places," Godsick said. The company will open its first amusement park in Malaysia in 2016 and its second park in South Korea.
Shanghai Haichang Polar Ocean World to open in China
Haichang Holdings will unveil Shanghai Haichang Polar Ocean World in 2017 in China. The 297,155-square-meter attraction will feature a marine amusement park, a themed hotel, 13 exhibit halls, four cinemas, four animal interaction plazas and more. Haichang spent roughly $120 million for the park's land-use rights.
