Applications are open for the 2020 Board of Directors!

The IAAPA Board of Directors sets the strategic direction and provides oversight for the association. Its work derives from IAAPA’s mission, vision, and values. Each board member represents a particular constituency perspective and region and advocates for IAAPA and the industry. Board members are visionary strategic thinkers who appreciate the value of the global attractions industry IAAPA represents. Each board member has a fiduciary duty to be loyal to the association, to act in its best interest, to avoid conflicts of interest, to maintain the confidentiality of association information, and to refrain from using the board for personal gain.

Board members must be currently employed by IAAPA-member companies that maintain their membership throughout the individual's term on the board.

Open Positions

Facility Member Directors – 4 open positions

Requirements:

  • Current member of an IAAPA member facility and has maintained that membership for at least one year
  • Spends at least 50 percent of her/his time in the operations of a facility as an owner or employee
  • Conversational English language skills

Manufacturer and Supplier Member Directors
 – 1 open position

Requirements:

  • Current member of an IAAPA member manufacturer or supplier company
  • Spends at least 50 percent of her/his time as the owner or employee of a manufacturer or supplier company
  • Conversational English language skills

Past Chair Director – 1 open position

Requirements:

  • Current member of IAAPA
  • Previously served as chair for IAAPA’s Board of Directors
  • Conversational English language skills

Treasurer
 – 1 open position

Requirements:

  • Current member of an IAAPA member facility 
  • Spends at least 50 percent of her/his time in the operations of a facility as an owner or employee
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, profit and loss statements, internal controls and analysis of complex financial documents. 
  • Conversational English language skills

Second Vice Chair – 1 open position

The second vice chair is also an officer of the board and serves in that position for one year before moving to the first vice chair, followed by chair, and finally immediate past chair for a total of four years. This person works closely with the first vice chair, chair, and immediate past chair to understand the role and prepare her/him for the role of chair.

  • Current member of IAAPA in the Facility or Life category and has maintained that membership for at least one year
  • Spends at least 50 percent of her/his time in the operations of a facility as an owner or employee
  • Good working knowledge of global, regional and local trends within the industry
  • Have a long-term view of the asociations strengths and weaknesses and make decisions to maximize performance
  • Conversational English language skills
