In Brief

Support GKTW at Expo
Give Kids The World (GKTW), located in nearby Kissimmee, Florida, is a resort that brings children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from all over the world to Central Florida for a week of rest and fun visiting area attractions. You can help GKTW in multiple ways at this year’s Expo.

Participate in the IAAPA Footprints From the Heart 5K Fun Run and Walk at Give Kids The World Village on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 6:45 a.m. Run past the world’s largest “Candy Land” game at Matthew’s Boundless Playground, wave hello to families staying at the resort, and high-five some of the Village’s most lovable characters. Individuals can run, walk, or cheer for $35. Teams of five or more can participate for $30 each. Register on the show floor at GKTW (Booth #3431).

Attendees of the run can also enter a Chance-to-Win one of five packages from Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Universal Orlando Resort, Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld Orlando.

At the GKTW booth, attendees can try making a hole-in-one to be entered to win a drawing for a grand prize. One putt is $10, three putts are $20, and five putts are $30.
Exhibiting companies can donate product to GKTW. Additional information will be distributed to each booth during the week.

Tickets Still Available for SeaWorld and Walt Disney World EDUTours
IAAPA EDUTours offer a behind-the-scenes look at some of the area’s legendary attractions. Tickets are still available for these two EDUTours:
SeaWorld Orlando Retail and Games Operations
Attendees will see how the park approaches product development, manages new store construction, implements product and game alignment within specific realms, and uses education to drive action. The EDUTour takes place Thursday, from 6:30 a.m. to noon.

Walt Disney World’s Transportation Operations, a Behind-the-Scenes Look
In an average day, Walt Disney World transports more people than many large cities. Attendees will learn how Disney incorporates transit industry strategies into their world-class service structure. The EDUTour takes place Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
